How the platforms fit together

Two Ways to Consume. Seven Service Platforms. One Foundation.

The map above shows how XaasIO is delivered. Two experience layers sit on top, seven service platforms do the work, and one foundation and lifecycle carry all of them.

Experience layer

XaasIO Hyperscaler Platform gives tenants a familiar self-service console, a catalog, plans, billing, and FinOps across every XaasIO service. XaasIO CMP manages those services alongside everything else you run: VMware, Hyper-V, public clouds, Kubernetes, and bare metal, with a global catalog, Ansible automation, ITSM synchronization, and FinOps.

Service platforms

Compute, Virtualization, Block and Object Storage, RDS, AI Factory, AI Lake, and MLT each ship as a complete service with the XaasIO Hyperscaler console for their own resources. Each can be bought and operated on its own; together they share identity, policy, observability, and billing.

Foundation and lifecycle

OpenStack, KVM, Ceph, and Kubernetes on hardware you own, with XaasIO IAM and single sign-on, policy, audit, and observability across every platform. One software lifecycle covers 20 platforms and 4 modules with signed releases, SBOMs, and documented upgrade paths.

Packaging, in one sentence: every service platform includes the XaasIO Hyperscaler console for its services; the XaasIO Hyperscaler Platform joins them into one catalog with tenants, billing, and payments; XaasIO CMP is the control plane for any environment, XaasIO or not.

Production platform

Open Infrastructure Without the Integration Burden

XaasIO designs, deploys, validates, and supports every platform as a production product rather than a collection of projects, connectors, and scripts. The same four commitments apply to all nine.
Validated Architecture
Components, versions, hardware, networking, storage, identity, and observability are tested together as one solution for each platform and across platforms where they integrate.
Controlled Lifecycle
Every platform and module follows the XaasIO Software Lifecycle Management framework: a release identity, documented patching and upgrade paths, compatibility and rollback procedures.
Software Supply Chain Assurance
Upstream and XaasIO release SBOMs, signed artifacts, license and vulnerability reviews, and SPDX or CycloneDX outputs for SOC 2-aligned audit evidence.
Flexible Operating Model
Customer-operated with XaasIO support, co-managed, fully managed, or a dedicated XaasIO SRE Pod, with Day 0 consulting, Day 1 deployment, and Day 2 managed services.

Your hardware, your keys, your identity, your data, and your update procedures. Every platform has a sovereign and air-gapped deployment pattern.

One Integrated Platform

Shared identity, policy, observability, catalog, and billing across compute, storage, databases, AI, data, and operations, instead of nine consoles and nine contracts.

Production Operations

Day 0 consulting, Day 1 deployment, and Day 2 managed services, a dedicated SRE Pod option, 24×7 support, and a documented release cycle for every platform.

AI-Ready Infrastructure

GPU compute, high-performance storage, a private AI Factory, an AI Lake with vector and graph layers, and an observability stack that feeds AI-assisted operations.

Service Provider Monetization

A hyperscaler-style catalog with plans, metering, invoicing, payments, and reseller settlement, so providers sell XaasIO services under their own brand.

Frequently asked questions

What is the XaasIO Platform?
A family of nine platforms for building and operating sovereign cloud infrastructure: XaasIO Compute, Virtualization, Block and Object Storage, RDS, AI Factory, AI Lake, MLT, CMP, and the Hyperscaler Platform. Each is a complete product with its own page, and all of them share one foundation, one identity model, one software lifecycle, and XaasIO operations. Managed Kubernetes, Network Functions Virtualization, and Cloud Billing and BSS complete the lineup.
Do we need every platform?
No. Each platform is bought and operated on its own, and each service platform includes the XaasIO Hyperscaler console for its own resources. Most customers start with one goal, such as a VMware exit, a private cloud, private AI, or hybrid cloud management, and add platforms as the estate grows. The table above shows the usual sequences.
What is the difference between the XaasIO Hyperscaler Platform and XaasIO CMP?
The XaasIO Hyperscaler Platform is the experience layer for XaasIO services: a self-service console that works like the public clouds your teams already use, with a catalog, tenants, plans, metering, invoicing, and payments. XaasIO CMP is the cloud management platform for everything you run, XaasIO or not: private cloud, VMware, Hyper-V, public clouds, Kubernetes and bare metal, with a global catalog, Ansible Day-2 automation, ITSM synchronization and FinOps. Service providers use the Hyperscaler Platform to sell; enterprises use CMP to govern and automate. Many run both.
Is XaasIO open source?
Partly. XaasIO’s infrastructure, data, AI, and observability platforms are built on upstream open-source projects: OpenStack, KVM, Ceph, Kubernetes, OpenEverest, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, Apache Iceberg, Trino, Kafka, and Ansible AWX. XaasIO validates, packages, signs, and supports these components for every release and publishes a software bill of materials (SBOM). XaasIO CMP and the XaasIO Hyperscaler Platform are proprietary products licensed under a XaasIO agreement, and XaasIO CMP is available as a 30-day evaluation.
Where can the platforms run?
In your data center or colocation, in a sovereign or regulated cloud, in a service provider region, at the edge, and in fully air-gapped sites. Every platform has a sovereign and air-gapped deployment pattern with local identity, registries, keys, and signed offline updates.
How are releases, patches and upgrades managed?
Through XaasIO Software Lifecycle Management: one framework for 20 platforms and 4 modules, with a release identity for every platform, documented patching and upgrade paths, compatibility rules, rollback procedures, and support windows. Every release carries an upstream and an XaasIO SBOM and signed artifacts.
Who operates the platforms?
You choose per platform: customer-operated with XaasIO support, co-managed, fully managed by XaasIO, or a dedicated XaasIO SRE Pod, backed by Day 0 consulting, Day 1 deployment, Day 2 managed services, and 24×7 support.
Can we migrate from VMware, Cloudera or a public cloud?
Yes. XaasIO Virtualization and Compute provide the controlled path from VMware, with CMP managing both estates during the move. XaasIO AI Lake has migration support packs for Cloudera and legacy Hadoop estates and for cloud data warehouse repatriation. The Hyperscaler Platform and Compute repatriate public cloud workloads with a familiar self-service experience.
Which platform should we start with?
Start with the goal, not the platform. The two-week Private Cloud Platform Assessment, the ten-day OpenStack and Kubernetes Health Check, and the AI and Data Platform Workshop each end with a written architecture, a sequence, and a cost model, so the first platform is chosen with the rest of the estate in view.
Is there a trial?
XaasIO CMP is available as a 30-day evaluation copy connected to your own environments. For the infrastructure, data, and AI platforms, XaasIO runs scoped proofs of concept as part of the assessments and workshops, on your hardware or in a XaasIO lab environment.
